Genome Function Tenure Related Positions

The Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) (molbio.uoregon.edu) at the University of Oregon announces two new tenure-track faculty positions (open rank) to expand in the area of genetics and epigenetics and form a Center for Genome Function.  We are particularly interested in hiring faculty members using model systems to study fundamental problems in genetics, epigenetics, chromatin and RNA biology.  This initiative is the first step in expanding our Institute, which includes faculty in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.  We expect future expansions in other areas of molecular biology.  Appointments may be made in any academic Department. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in an appropriate field, commitment to excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and an outstanding research record relating to genome function. Candidates should have the ability to work effectively with a diverse community. Interested persons should apply online to the University of Oregon IMB SEARCH at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/7737. Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae including a publication list, a statement of research accomplishments and future research plans, a description of teaching experience and philosophy, and three letters of recommendation. Submission of 1-3 selected reprints is encouraged. The soft application close date is November 1, 2016. The positions will remain open until filled. Nominations, including for senior faculty, can be sent to GenomeFunction@uoregon.edu.
